"A student of sound with an interest in creative writing, Variex is a San Francisco, California based producer and rapper. Part ambient electronic, part hip-hop, his music also incorporates elements of downtempo, shoegaze, and IDM. A member of the New Cocoon collective, Variex plays both electronic and acoustic instruments, and rearranges chopped up samples to create original sounds. Writing songs like journal entries, his emotional delivery sits between textured melodies and glitch-hop drum patterns."
